ABOUT ME

My Qualifications & Tutoring Experience

I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BSc (Hons) in Physics in 2016. My favourite modules involved computer programming, and I've always been interested in Robotics. So after graduation I went to University College London to do a MSc in Robotics and Computation, achieving a Distinction.

My MSc thesis supervisor subsequently invited me to begin a PhD at University College London in Robotics. During my PhD I have discovered that I enjoy working with students to facilitate their learning. I am 2 years into my 4 year doctoral studies, and have been a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant for students ranging from first year undergraduate to Masters level.

The subjects I have been teaching are mostly computer science, and I was the leader of a group of 8 teaching assistants for an undergraduate course with 180 students. This experience made me aware that organisation and time management are just as important for a tutor as an approachable attitude and good work ethic.

During my two years of teaching, I was awarded the runner-up prize for Best Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in Computer Science for both years. I believe these awards are the result of the true satisfaction I get when I am able to help a student gain the confidence to attempt hard problems and the skills to solve them.

I was welcomed onboard with G5 Education in September 2019, tutoring Physics and Mathematics at all levels from KS3 through to    A-level and greatly looking forward to this new challenge.
